I have wanted to visit Colorado for some time now. I have wanted to go hiking, but I also wanted to go snowboarding… looks like hiking is what brought me here.A friend of mine found cheap flights for under $150 round trip with American Airlines so it was booked.
WHERE I STAYED:
Hampton Inn and Suites Denver Downtown Convention CenterThis was a well placed hotel in downtown. It was close enough to walk to most places or take a short uber ride for under $7. So this worked out great. What was even better was the phenomenal staff! They were truly great and extended themselves the extra mile for us. So I highly recommend it.If you need help booking a hotel let me know. Book with Dr Wanderlust Here!
WHAT I DID:
Denver Free Walking Tour
https://www.denverfreewalkingtours.comThis was the first tour we had, and it was a great way to get an understanding of Denver. The guide was knowledgable, and like all free walking tours don’t forget to tip.
Trap Yoga with Black Yogi Bear
We found black owned yoga company and immediately took to a unique approach to yoga by incorporating Trap music. The owner has trap yoga every Saturday and you can book on eventbrite
Jazz and Dinner at Nocturne
We opted to try another black owned restaurant Nocturne. While it was no comparison to jazz in New Orleans it was a decent experience. It was not our favorite meal but the drinks were good
Rocky Mountain Hiking with Aspire Tours
We met at Union Station, and headed out around 8 AM. Win, was absolutely phenomenal. So knowledgeable. I swear Win has had 10 lifetimes of stories, knowledge and experience in his 1 life time!! He is #GOALS! He gives you history, facts about plants and wild life.. He is just great! It is not a very hard hike, however, toward the end of the hike it does get to a up hill march, so be ready for that. Cub lake was relaxing, had a quick sandwich to eat that was provided. You can always bring your own snacks of course.

Delicious Food Tours
This is a very unique food tour, it really gives you the opportunity to try unique dishes that you would otherwise not try. The portion sizes are rather big as well. Our guide Sara was phenomenal and informative. What was also great is she was a chef, so she was excellent in sharing from her knowledge and training as well.Be sure to do the drink pairings. They are all great drinks, and actually full sized drinks too.
